To be a world class university, the institution must forge linkages with various countries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u201cThis is the second time our university is participating in the expo in recent years,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u201cDuring this year\u2019s expo, four universities from Indonesia are taking part including Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar, Universitas Negeri Malang, and Diponegoro University, a public university in Semarang, Central Java.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">Business Development and Planning Manager at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore Imelda Rostam meanwhile noted that it is participating in the expo to create awareness on the institute.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_193006\" style=\"width: 517px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-193006\" class=\"td-animation-stack-type0-1 wp-image-193006 \" src=\"https:\/\/borneobulletin.com.bn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/page-7-C_170219.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/borneobulletin.com.bn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/page-7-C_170219.jpg 650w, https:\/\/borneobulletin.com.bn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/page-7-C_170219-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/borneobulletin.com.bn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/page-7-C_170219-630x420.jpg 630w\" alt=\"\" width=\"507\" height=\"338\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-193006\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Business Development and Planning Manager at National Institute of Education Singapore Imelda Rostam briefs students at the expo. \u2013 PHOTOS: AZLAN OTHMAN<\/p><\/div>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u201cWe are also hoping to meet some of our institute\u2019s alumni here, including a PhD graduate now teaching at UBD,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">The <em>Sunday Bulletin <\/em>also caught up with Aimi Asilah, one of the students who will be studying in Japan under the Japan Scholarship programme.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u201cI will pursue my PhD (Research) in Hydrogen Energy, a new programme, part of which will be undertaken at Brunei LNG,\u201d she said at the Embassy of Japan booth at the expo.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u201cIt is a new type of energy that [is just about to be embraced] in Brunei Darussalam, and I am hoping to work in Japan upon the completion of my study.\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u201cFour major companies in Japan are collaborating with Brunei Darussalam [in this hydrogen initiative].<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">It is also related to the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo next year when hydrogen will be sent from Brunei Darussalam to Japan,\u201d Aimi added, sharing that she is one of three recipients selected for the Japanese Scholarship this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will join Tsukuba University in Tokyo this April.
